Good Shepherd Chiang Mai | Wildflower Home Foundation and indigenous communities of Thailand

In Chiang Mai, the Good Shepherd Thailand Mission is represented by the Wildflower Home, which provides safety, education, health care, and other support to women in crisis, often pregnant or accompanied by young children.

Many local women face unlawful and immoral discrimination, extreme poverty, human rights violations, and family abandonment. Confronted with financial problems and social stigma, we welcome these women and support them during their lives' most challenging and traumatic periods.

During the monitoring visit, October 14-16,  we had a chance to see the life of the tribal communities and talk to the watchdog group activists who are regularly trained by the Wildflower Home team on how to report cases of gender-based violence in the community to prevent the spread of GBV crimes.

The Wildflower Home empowers these women to stand up for themselves, expand opportunities for financial stability and prevent potential risks of medical relapse.

The Wildflower Home is directed by RGS Sister Anurak and Sister Elena. It is a fond place for many international volunteers from all over the world who help the mission to develop not only through teaching or taking care of the children but also by supporting the staff teamwork in the office, bringing innovations in the areas of media and awareness raising about the cause, bringing the attention of the general public worldwide to the issue.
