Good Shepherd Bangkok | Visiting the Mission Development Office

On October 8, Ms. Anna Neya was invited to visit the Good Shepherd Bangkok mission and the Mission Development Office to discuss the best strategies to apply for the effective development of the projects.

Good Shepherd Thailand established its Mission Development Office (MDO) in June 2020 in Bangkok. The Good Shepherd MDO acts as a central office to coordinate and support GS communities in Bangkok, Phuket, Nongkai, Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Pattaya, and Cambodia to meet its common goal; provide technical assistance, assess and document GS good practices, as well as provide capacity building to all team across GS communities.

Good Shepherd Bangkok was the first mission established by the RGS Sisters in Thailand. Nowadays, it continues to help the local community, offering counseling services and medical care in an environment of love and acceptance.

Daycare center offers children an opportunity to develop their potential; also, education opportunities for adults are provided in the Bangkok Mission.

Sister Apinya, Director of the Fountain of Life Children Center in Pattaya and M&E Manager of the Mission Development Office, took a tour of the local Bangkok Slum areas to show sadly famous areas where poor people who can not afford to pay taxes are living in very anti-sanitary conditions. Many children from this area attend the Good Shepherd study and support centers.

Good Shepherd Sisters are trying their best to attract the attention of local authorities to the issue and not only reach out for some extra support for the community but also give those in need a chance for a safe life, education, and life with dignity.
