Environmental Awareness Education for Community Empowerment

Environmental Awareness Education for Community Empowerment

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the first Environmental Awareness session took place during the annual weekly meeting at the Fountain of Life Women’s Center, marking the beginning of the active implementation of environmental education within the Good Shepherd Thailnd Centers. The session was hosted by the staff team and volunteers.

Environmental awareness is one of the key foundations of environmental responsibility and the protection of our planet from the damage caused by human activities.

Before sharing knowledge with friends and family members, the first step in developing environmental awareness within the target group is to provide sufficient information helping participants understand the current climate and ecological crisis, as well as its causes.

The Environmental Awareness Course was developed by Ms. Anna Neya Kazanskaia, founder of the World Natural Heritage Preservers NPO, with the goal of educating individuals, groups, and organizations on the significance of the damage caused to our planet and to ourselves through the inefficient use of technological progress.

Teacher Chaaba (Pia Harismendy, FIDESCO France Volunteer) hosted the afternoon session for women attending the center. Promoting environmentally responsible behavior through education was one of the main goals of the Environmental Awareness course.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of the educational process, the Fountain of Life Women Center team implemented a chatbot in LINE for counseling, educational guidance, and mental support purposes for the target group.

Following the Environmental Awareness session, women received educational materials privately through the LINE chatbot and had an opportunity to review the presentation and video again, as well as share the materials with family members, friends, and community members.
