Development of Creativity as Therapy | Candle-Making workshop for vulnerable women
Art therapy is a technique rooted in the idea that creative expression has a direct connection to healing and mental well-being.
The creation or appreciation of art is often used to help people explore emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, boost self-esteem, and improve social skills.
Making soy candles is relatively simple and consists of three basic stages: melting the wax, adding fragrance oils, and assembling the candle. However, the process also requires knowledge of safety instructions and important technical details to ensure that the candles are safe to use, visually appealing, and pleasant in fragrance.
The workshop hosted by Ms. Anna Neya Kazanskaia consisted of two parts — theory and practice. During the first part of the workshop, participants learned the theoretical foundations of candle making, including how to create high-quality candles, decorate them, and choose suitable materials, colors, and essential oils.
During the second part of the workshop, women were invited to create their own candles and apply the theoretical knowledge in practice.
Please watch the short video below from the candle-making workshop held at our center.
The workshop was warmly welcomed by the women attending our center, and we believe that the development of creativity plays an important role in emotional and mental healing
