Dancing Therapy | Women Empowerment Activity
It is a well-known fact that movement is beneficial for both the body and mind. The mental and emotional benefits of movement are significant.
Regular movement is an investment in the mind, body, and emotional well-being. One of the more expressive ways to integrate movement into the healing process is through dance therapy:
- Dancing can be a way to stay physically active for people of all ages, body types, and backgrounds.
- Dancing may help improve muscle tone, strength, endurance, and overall fitness. It can also become a meaningful way to meet new people and build social connections.
- Dance and movement therapy is a technique focused on helping people improve self-esteem, develop effective communication skills and relationships, expand their movement vocabulary, gain insight into behavioral patterns, and create healthier ways of coping with challenges.
At Fountain of Life Women Center, the Dancing Therapy activity was led by Ms. Anna Kazanskaia together with the staff team and included two sessions in which more than 150 women participated in the collective dance and healing process.
