Environmental Awareness Education

Thailand is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches and peaceful nature, but not many people are aware that Thailand is among the world’s largest plastic polluters. Despite active government initiatives aimed at addressing environmental issues, promoting recycling, and reducing plastic pollution, at Neya Global we believe that the lack of education and awareness among local communities — especially in less developed and low-income areas — remains one of the key obstacles to tackling plastic pollution in Thailand.

On 22–26 August 2022, the Talitha Kum Asia Conference was held at the Pastoral Training Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ms. Anna Neya was invited by the Good Shepherd Sisters Thailand to support the presentation of Sr. Piyachat Boonmul on the contribution made by Good Shepherd Thailand toward the prevention and suppression of prostitution.

On Tuesday, 28 June 2022, I was very glad to meet Father Bee, who visited the Fountain of Life Women’s Center and Fountain of Life Children’s Center in Pattaya to bless the centers and celebrate Mass for vulnerable women, children, staff members, and volunteers.

On 8 June 2022, I was honored to be introduced to the Good Shepherd Sisters Thailand who gathered together on the occasion of the First Profession of Vows of Sister Mary Pimpa. Heartfelt congratulations to Sister Pimpa!

On May 20, 2022, I was invited to attend the agricultural activity in Si Racha Gardens located near Pattaya, Thailand. The activity formed part of the Sustainable Living Project managed by the Good Shepherd Sisters Thailand.

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the first Environmental Awareness session took place during the annual weekly meeting at the Fountain of Life Women’s Center, marking the beginning of the active implementation of environmental education within the Good Shepherd Thailnd Centers. The session was hosted by the staff team and volunteers.

Two days ahead of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, representatives of 14 government and social agencies, with the support of Catholic Social Media, gathered together to commit to strengthening measures aimed at tackling gender-based violence, with a focus on the protection of women and children.

It is a well-known fact that movement is beneficial for both the body and mind. The mental and emotional benefits of movement are significant.

Art therapy is a technique rooted in the idea that creative expression has a direct connection to healing and mental well-being.
