About the Article

Transformational leadership has emerged as one of the most influential paradigms in leadership studies, bridging theory and practice across diverse sectors. This article explores its foundational principles, historical evolution, and comparative relevance alongside transactional and servant leadership models. Drawing from Burns, Bass, and subsequent research, it defines four key dimensions—idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—and examines their practical implications. Through case analyses of Nelson Mandela and Google’s organizational culture, the article illustrates how transformational leadership fosters innovation, ethical governance, and follower empowerment. Integrating comparative and cross-cultural perspectives, it demonstrates how this model enhances both organizational and individual development, making it a critical framework for leaders operating in dynamic global contexts.
