About the Article
This Teaching Paper explores four structured feedback models—the SBI (Situation–Behavior–Impact), BOOST, Sandwich, and Two Stars and a Wish frameworks—as essential techniques for guiding improvement in public speaking coaching. These models provide coaches with practical methods for delivering balanced, specific, and motivating feedback. Drawing on evidence from organizational psychology and communication studies, the paper demonstrates how each model can be applied to strengthen learning, confidence, and clarity in coachees’ performance. A real-world case study from a non-profit leadership training program illustrates how combining these frameworks can enhance both motivation and skill development. The discussion bridges academic theory and practical implementation, offering coaches, trainers, and scholars replicable tools to deliver feedback that transforms public speaking performance.
