Abstract
In the digital age, nonprofit organizations increasingly rely on online tools for recruitment, coordination, and retention of volunteers. Yet digital literacy gaps often prevent volunteers from fully participating in organizational processes. This Teaching Paper introduces a structured Digital Literacy Training Module designed to equip volunteers with practical skills in communication platforms, volunteer management software, and data protection. Drawing on principles of adult learning and nonprofit management, the module integrates theoretical grounding with practical exercises, ensuring that volunteers not only understand digital tools but can confidently apply them in real-world contexts. The paper provides a complete module outline, a case study of implementation, and practical tips for adaptation in low-resource environments. Reflection questions and considerations highlight both the opportunities and limitations of digital literacy programs, offering nonprofit leaders a roadmap for building inclusive, technology-enabled volunteer ecosystems.
