About the Article
This article synthesizes key lessons and insights on the use of social media by non-profit organizations. It reviews both foundational principles—platform selection, SMART goal-setting, and audience analysis—and advanced strategies such as content creation, participatory engagement, analytics, advertising, crisis management, and system-building. Drawing on case studies from Charity: Water, WWF, Save the Children, Greenpeace, Oxfam, and Doctors Without Borders, the article demonstrates how social media strengthens fundraising, builds loyal communities, and advances organizational missions. The findings emphasize that effective non-profit strategies require long-term commitment, organizational alignment, and adaptability to evolving digital environments.
