About the Article

Resource allocation and budgeting are central to the success and sustainability of non-profit programs, particularly in low-resource settings. This article examines strategies for effective financial planning, optimal utilization of human and material resources, and long-term financial sustainability. Emphasis is placed on cost identification, line-item budgeting, contingency planning, leveraging partnerships, in-kind contributions, and volunteer engagement. Case studies from Uganda, Nepal, and Nigeria illustrate practical applications, demonstrating how structured planning enables non-profits to expand services, improve outcomes, and maintain organizational viability. Integrating theory and practice, this work provides guidance for managers and development practitioners seeking resource-efficient, sustainable, and impactful program management.
