About the Article

Post-submission follow-up is an often-overlooked stage of grant writing that shapes both immediate outcomes and long-term organizational success. This article analyzes practices such as confirming proposal receipt, responding to funder inquiries, constructively managing rejections, celebrating successful awards, and maintaining ongoing relationships. Through case examples, it demonstrates how organizations can transform rejection feedback into future wins and leverage awards for visibility and morale. Follow-up is framed as a strategic process of communication, professionalism, and persistence—enhancing accountability and organizational learning. For academics, it provides insights into donor–recipient dynamics; for practitioners, it offers actionable guidance to strengthen credibility and sustain funder partnerships.
