About the Article
Community events are among the most powerful tools for non-profit fundraising, combining financial resource generation with community-building and solidarity. This article analyzes the multiple roles of events, from fairs and concerts to auctions and workshops, showing how they function as both revenue streams and participatory spaces. It outlines planning essentials—goal definition, budgeting, logistics, and marketing—as the backbone of success, while highlighting engagement strategies such as sponsorships, partnerships, and volunteer mobilization. Special focus is given to resource-constrained contexts, where creativity, in-kind contributions, and local traditions enable organizations to deliver impactful events despite limited funds. By bridging theory and practice, the article positions community events as a cornerstone of sustainable fundraising and participatory development.
