About the Article
This article examines the critical role of leadership in fostering organizational learning in non-profits, particularly in resource-constrained environments. Leaders build learning cultures by articulating vision, embedding values of openness, fostering psychological safety, supporting innovation, and modeling desired behaviors. Drawing on theories of organizational learning and global case studies from Ghana, Kenya, India, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Uganda, Cambodia, Peru, Tanzania, Vietnam, Mexico, the Philippines, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh, the discussion demonstrates how leadership practices—such as mentoring, peer learning, feedback systems, and talent development—strengthen resilience, adaptability, and long-term impact. The analysis contributes to academic debates on leadership and organizational learning while offering actionable strategies for practitioners to cultivate leadership capacity at all levels.
