This article explores the ethical and practical dimensions of informed consent in non-profit research, highlighting its central role in protecting participant autonomy and ensuring research credibility. It examines the three core components of consent—information disclosure, comprehension, and voluntariness—and analyzes challenges in resource-limited, culturally diverse, or low-literacy environments. Drawing on historical ethical violations and contemporary community-based practices, the article presents strategies for adapting consent procedures to local contexts, including plain language, visual aids, translation, oral consent, and community engagement. By integrating global ethical standards with culturally sensitive practices, non-profits can strengthen trust, enhance transparency, and reinforce the integrity and social responsibility of their research initiatives.
