Abstract

The rapid evolution of digital technologies is reshaping the future of volunteer management, offering new opportunities for engagement, training, and coordination. This article analyzes emerging technological trends—including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data analytics—and their implications for non-profit organizations. It examines how these innovations can enhance efficiency, transparency, and personalization in volunteer programs while also highlighting the challenges of adoption in diverse contexts. Strategies for preparing organizations to embrace technological change include flexible system design, pilot testing, agile project management, and continuous professional development. Case applications demonstrate how AI is used for role-matching, VR for immersive training, and blockchain for transparent record-keeping. The article emphasizes that adaptability and learning cultures are central to successful digital transformation. For practitioners, it provides guidance on integrating emerging tools in scalable and cost-effective ways; for scholars, it situates volunteer management within broader debates on digital governance, organizational agility, and civil society innovation.
