About the Article
Leadership in non-profit organizations plays a decisive role in ensuring mission-driven effectiveness and sustainable social impact. Unlike leaders in the for-profit sector, non-profit leaders must navigate complex environments characterized by limited resources, diverse stakeholder expectations, and shifting political and cultural contexts. This article examines the foundations of non-profit leadership, analyzing the qualities, competencies, and adaptive strategies necessary to guide organizations through uncertainty. It highlights the interplay between vision, ethics, cultural competence, and adaptability, situating leadership challenges within developing and emerging economies. By combining theoretical insight with practical examples, the article provides a framework for understanding how adaptive and ethically grounded leadership practices enable non-profits to sustain operations and strengthen community trust under resource constraints.
