About the Article
Corporate partnerships and sponsorships have emerged as central mechanisms for strengthening the capacity of non-profit organizations across diverse contexts, particularly in developing economies and low-resource settings. These collaborations extend beyond financial support to encompass in-kind contributions, technical expertise, and visibility—resources that many non-profits cannot otherwise access. This article critically examines the foundational role of corporate partnerships and sponsorships, analyzing their potential benefits and limitations while situating them within broader debates on sustainability, accountability, and cross-sector collaboration. By outlining conceptual underpinnings, highlighting illustrative examples, and discussing challenges such as conflict of interest, dependency, and reputational risk, the article provides a framework for academics and practitioners to understand and strategically implement corporate collaboration.
